MY JOURNEY
Early Life & Foundation
Rosalyn Womack began her journey in fashion not from privilege, but from determination.
Becoming a teen mother shaped her resilience. Becoming a single mother sharpened her discipline. What began as a necessity evolved into mastery.
Fashion became both creative expression and a pathway to stability — and eventually, legacy.
She was not simply sewing garments.
She was building a future.
Education
Rosalyn is a proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where she studied Fashion Merchandising & Design. As an HBCU graduate, her education was rooted not only in technical construction and textile science, but in cultural excellence, discipline, and legacy.
She later earned a Master of Arts in Elementary Education, expanding her commitment to mentorship, structure, and leadership. Her dual background in design and education uniquely positions her as both craftsman and instructor.
Her academic training bridges artistry and analysis — structure and storytelling.
Career & Craft Development
Over the years, Rosalyn developed a reputation for solving complex fit challenges and executing structural garment transformations many consider “impossible.”
Her specialties include:
• Advanced bridal alterations
• Major garment reshaping
• Heirloom redesign and restoration
• Curvier silhouettes requiring internal structure
• Post-surgical and specialized fit cases
• Formalwear and suiting alterations
• Custom occasion design
In addition to private studio work, she has designed for theatrical productions and contributed wardrobe and design work connected to television projects associated with MTV and TLC.
Her craftsmanship emphasizes longevity, internal structure, architectural proportion, and refined finishing — garments constructed to endure for decades, not seasons.
Entrepreneurship & Community Impact
Rosalyn is the founder of The Honey Bun Boutique, a fashion space dedicated to celebrating fuller silhouettes and expanding representation in fashion retail.
Through her work, she also created Passion to Purse, an initiative designed to empower women and aspiring creatives through entrepreneurship, fashion education, and confidence-building opportunities.
Her work has been featured in local media and television segments, strengthening her public presence while deepening her commitment to community impact.
While media exposure expanded her visibility, her most meaningful work remains personal — in the clients who feel structurally supported and confidently seen.
Cultural Perspective & Inclusive Practice
As a Black woman in the fashion industry, Rosalyn understands firsthand how limited and exclusionary fashion spaces can feel.
Her studio is intentionally structured as a safe, respectful, and affirming environment for:
• Women of all sizes
• Clients seeking plus-size expertise
• Post-surgical clients
• LGBTQ+ clients
• Clients across cultural backgrounds
Many clients intentionally seek her out for her cultural perspective, technical expertise, and discretion.
They value craftsmanship.
They value understanding.
They value trust.
Her philosophy is simple: Hello, Beautifull.
Every client deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated exactly as they are.
Legacy Work
Rosalyn’s current focus centers on longevity and heirloom construction.
She specializes in transforming inherited wedding gowns into modern heirlooms and constructing custom garments designed to be passed from mother to daughter — and beyond.
She believes:
• The inside of a garment should be as beautiful as the outside.
• Craftsmanship is cultural preservation.
• Clothing holds memory.
Her work is not trend-driven.
It is legacy-driven.
Ongoing Work
In addition to her private studio practice, Rosalyn serves as a high school Apparel & Textile Production educator and Curriculum Specialist, mentoring the next generation of designers while continuously refining her own technical standards.
Her journey remains active.
